NEW YORK — Brooklyn Nets coach Jacque Vaughn has done a good job leading the Nets to victories through good habits and preparation. Most of the Nets’ players have said throughout this season how crucial Vaughn’s approach to the game has been for the team’s success, especially in late-game situations or overcoming double-digit deficits.
“Great resolve from our guys”, Vaughn said during his postgame interview after beating the Milwaukee Bucks 118-100 on Friday. “We let that second group play a little bit, play through them making a run on us. I think that’s important for our team. To have confidence in that group, I’d really believe the start of that second quarter, that group can really do some damage for us going forward”.
The Nets had a comfortable lead over the Bucks throughout much of the game, but there was a point where the Bucks made a run to get within 10 points midway through the fourth quarter. However, like Vaughn said, Brooklyn showed great resolve in not letting the Bucks’ run take away any confidence or poise down the stretch and the Nets were able to eventually win by 18 points.
The Nets are on a eight-game winning streak and have won 12 of its last 13 games.
