On a night that saw both Boston Celtics alumni participating in the contest having relatively low-scoring games, former Celtics floor general Shane Larkin and ex-Boston big man Juancho Hernangomez combined for just 11 points in Turkey’s 72-69 loss to Spain in EuroBasket play on Wednesday morning.
For the Spanish National Team, Hernangomez put up 8 points, 7 rebounds, an assist, and as many blocks, fouling once and turning the ball over as many times in just over 18 minutes of play off of the bench. For the Turkish National Team, Larkin’s shooting woes continued with the Miami product adding just 3 points on 1-of-6 shooting.
Larkin also contributed 3 rebounds, 6 assists, and a steal in the loss, fouling twice and turning the ball over once in just under 31 minutes of game time.
With the win, Spain improves to 4-1 in Group A to take the top spot while Turkey drops to 3-2 in Group A to hold second place.
