Point guard Nika Sukhitashvili (183-PG-2006) had a great game in the last round for Telavi, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 16-year old player had a double-double of 28 points and 13 rebounds, while his team outclassed Maccabi (#7, 1-10) with 27-point margin 109-82. Telavi maintains the 6th position in their group in Georgian U18 League. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 7 games and recorded just three victories. In the team’s last game Sukhitashvili had a remarkable 76.5% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Nika Sukhitashvili has solid league stats. He is in league’s top in assists (6th best: 4.9apg) and averages impressive 3.1spg.

The second best player in last round’s games was another Telavi’s star – young Kakhaber Iagorashvili (193-F-2005). Iagorashvili had a very good evening with 33 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Of course together with Sukhitashvili he helped Telavi with another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Maccabi (#7, 1-10) 109-82. Telavi’s 6th position in Group A has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 3-7 record. Iagorashvili is a newcomer at Telavi, but is already one of team’s top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.3ppg (#5). His other stats are also decent: 7.3rpg and 3.8apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Luka Dolbadze (190-F-2007) of Brooklyn (#5). Dolbadze showcased his all-around game by recording 20 points, fourteen rebounds (!!!) and four assists in the last round. He was a key player of Brooklyn, leading his team to a 67-63 win against slightly higher-ranked Dinamo (#4, 6-5). Brooklyn can only dream about fighting for top spots in Group B. They have rather bad season and 3-8 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Dolbadze has a very solid season. In 9 games in Georgia he scored 8.1ppg. He also has 7.6rpg and FGP: 54.0%.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
