Here is the weekly review of the top performing German players, who play currently abroad.
   #1. This week’s number one is an international power forward Johannes Voigtmann (211-92, currently plays in Euroleague). He could not help CSKA (6-5) in their last game. Despite Voigtmann’s very good performance CSKA lost 73-81 on the road to the second-ranked Barca.
He was the top scorer with 21 points. Voigtmann also added 6 rebounds in 24 minutes on the court.
But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
Voigtmann has relatively good stats this year: 11.3ppg, 5.1rpg, 2.6apg, 2FGP: 79.2%(19-24), 3FGP: 42.9% in 10 games he played so far.
He is currently a member of the German senior national team.
   #2. Second place goes to former international center Tibor Pleiss (221-89, currently plays in Turkey). Pleiss led Efes to a victory against the sixth-ranked Dacka (5-3) 84-76 in a derby game in the Turkish BSL last Sunday.
He scored 17 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
Anadolu Efes Istanbul (6-0) is placed first in the BSL.
So far his team won all six games in the Regular Season.
There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
This season Pleiss has relatively solid stats: 12.0ppg, 3.8rpg, 2FGP: 56.1%(23-41), 3FGP: 28.6% and FT: 72.7%.
He played for the German national team in 2016.

   #3. The German player who performed third best last week abroad was former international point guard Dennis Schroeder (181-93, currently plays in NBA). Schroeder was not able to help the Boston Celtics in their last game. Despite his very good performance his team lost 105-111 in a derby game to the Boston Celtics.
Schroeder was the second best scorer with 29 points. He also added 4 rebounds and dished 6 assists in 36 minutes.
Schroeder has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 12.0ppg, 3.8rpg, 2FGP: 56.1%(23-41), 3FGP: 28.6% and FT: 72.7% in five games.
Schroeder has a dual citizenship: German and Gambian.
He played for the German national team two years ago.

   #4. Center Maik Zirbes (208-90, agency: BeoBasket, currently plays in Euroleague) was not able to secure a victory for Crvena Zvezda (4-7) in their last game. Despite Zirbes’ good performance Crvena Zvezda lost 67-79 in Madrid to the leading Real.
He was the second best scorer with 12 points. Zirbes also added 4 rebounds in 20 minutes.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
This year Zirbes’ overall stats are: 7.0ppg and 2.0rpg in four games.
He is also German national team player.

   #5. An experienced former U18 international guard Franz Wagner (206-1, college: Michigan, currently plays in NBA) couldn’t help the Orlando Magic in their last game on Friday. Despite Wagner’s very good performance his team was edged 115-113 in Brooklyn by the Nets.
He was the second best scorer with 17 points. Wagner also added 5 passes.
It’s Wagner’s first season with the team.
His total stats this year are: 7.0ppg and 2.0rpg.
Wagner used to play for the German U18 national team
two years ago.

   #6. Forward Moritz Wagner (211-97, college: Michigan, currently plays in NBA) is a teammate of previously mentioned Franz Wagner. But that was another game of his team in NBA which we would like to mention.
Wagner couldn’t help the Orlando Magic in their last game. Despite his very good performance his team was crushed 123-92 in Milwaukee by the Bucks.
Wagner was the top scorer with 18 points. He also added 2 blocks in 24 minutes.
This year Wagner’s total stats are: 7.0ppg and 2.0rpg in four games.
He is an international player who is currently on the senior German National Team roster.

   #7. Former University international swingman David Brembly (197-93, currently plays in Poland) couldn’t help Enea Zastal (0-3) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite Brembly’s very good performance Enea Zastal was defeated 105-98 in Ostrow Wlkp. by the lower-ranked Stal (#4).
He scored 16 points and grabbed 6 rebounds (was perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line).
Brembly has averaged so far 9.7ppg and 4.8rpg.
He used to play for the German university national team
six years ago.

   #8. Center Mahir Agva (206-96, currently plays in Turkey) contributed to a Pinar Karsiyaka‘s victory against the 11th-ranked Afyon Bld (3-5) 90-76 in the Turkish BSL on Sunday night.
Agva scored 8 points in only 6 minutes.
Pinar Karsiyaka SK Izmir (7-2) is placed third in the BSL.
There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial.
Agva has averaged so far 4.8ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.3apg in nine games.
He used to play for the German university national team
back in 2017.
   #9. Former international forward Maximilian Kleber (208-92, currently plays in NBA) helped Dallas Mavericks win their game against the Los Angeles Clippers (10-8) 112-104 in the NBA in Tuesday night’s game.
Kleber scored 8 points, had 9 rebounds and dished 6 assists.
The Dallas Mavericks have quite an impressive – record this season.
Kleber has been at the team for five years.
He has averaged so far 4.8ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.3apg.
Kleber used to play for the German national team
two years ago.

   #10. Forward Robin Benzing (208-89, also represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in Italy) couldn’t help Fortitudo BO in their last game. Despite his very good performance his team lost 77-84 on the opponent’s court to the lower-ranked (#3) Trento.
Benzing was the top scorer with 21 points. He also added 3 assists in 30 minutes.
Benzing has reliable stats this year: 14.8ppg, 2.2rpg and 1.7apg in nine games.
He is an international player who is currently on the senior German National Team roster.

   #11. Former international center Daniel Theis (204-92, currently plays in NBA) couldn’t help the Houston Rockets in their last game. Despite Theis’ good performance his team lost 89-101 in Oklahoma City to the Thunder.
He scored 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 24 minutes.
Theis averaged so far 7.3ppg, 1.9rpg and 1.1apg in seven games.
He used to play for the German national team
two years ago.

   #12. International forward Niels Giffey (200-91, another player represented by BeoBasket, college: UConn, currently plays in Euroleague) managed to help B.C. Zalgiris Kaunas to win against the league outsider Panathinaikos 76-69 in the Euroleague last Tuesday.
Giffey recorded 5 points.
Giffey has averaged so far 6.8ppg and 3.8rpg.
He is also in the roster of the German national team.

   #13. U20 international forward Tristan Da Silva (203-1, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA couldn’t help the Colorado in their last game. Despite Da Silva’s very good performance the Colorado lost 63-67 in Carbondale to the Southern Illinois University.
He scored 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 34 minutes.
Da Silva has averaged so far 8.2ppg, 4.0rpg and 1.5apg in six games.
He is also German U20 national team player.

   #14. Former U20 international point guard Robert Zinn (197-95, currently plays in Switzerland) helped Fribourg win their game against the eighth-ranked Boncourt crushing them 98-65 in the Swiss SBL on Saturday night.
Zinn scored 9 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 6 assists.
Zinn has averaged so far 7.4ppg, 3.4rpg and 3.8apg.
He used to play for the German U20 national team
back in 2015.

   #15. International point guard Ismet Akpinar (193-95, another player represented by BeoBasket, currently plays in Turkey) helped Fenerbahce win their game against the seventh-ranked Besiktas 82-74 in a derby game in the Turkish BSL in Sunday night’s game.
Akpinar scored only 3 points in 13 minutes.
This year Akpinar averages just 6.6ppg in seven games.
He is also in the roster of the German national team.

The list of other players, who all have German passport but never been selected to any of German national teams:

   #1. Dylan Osetkowski (206-F-96, agency: BeoBasket, college: Texas, currently plays in Euroleague) could not help ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (6-5) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite Osetkowski’s good performance ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket was defeated 87-74 on the road by the leading Real Madrid.
He was the second best scorer with 14 points. Osetkowski also added 3 steals.
But the season just started, so everything may happen.
It’s Osetkowski’s first year with the team.
His overall stats this season are: 5.3ppg and 3.1rpg.
Osetkowski is a naturalized American.
He used to play for BG Goettingen in German league.

   #2. Adam Ariel (195-SG-94, agency: Avi Zilberman, currently plays in Israel) led Hapoel Jerusalem to a victory against the 11th-ranked Hapoel Haifa (2-5) 89-77 in the Israeli Winner League on Saturday night.
Ariel recorded 11 points.
Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem (5-2) is placed second in the Winner League.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
Ariel has averaged so far 7.3ppg, 1.9rpg and 1.1apg.
He has a dual citizenship: German and Israeli.

   #3. Bar Timor (190-G-92, also represented by Avi Zilberman, currently plays in Israel) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Hapoel Eilat (2-5) crushing them 88-62 in the Israeli Winner League in Saturday night’s game.
Timor recorded 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.
Hapoel SP Tel-Aviv (3-4) is placed eighth in the Winner League.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
Timor has averaged so far 10.0ppg, 4.0rpg and 4.3apg.
He is another player who holds two passports: German and Israeli.

   #4. Julian Jasinski (201-F-96, currently plays in Poland) was the major contributor in Krosno‘s victory against the closely-ranked Zak (3-7) crushing them 79-58 in the Polish 1Liga (second division) last Wednesday.
Jasinski had a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 10 rebounds in 32 minutes.
Miasto Szkla Krosno (4-6) is placed 11th in the 1Liga.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
Jasinski averaged so far 14.1ppg, 7.9rpg and 1.1apg in 10 games he played so far.
He has both German and Polish nationalities.

   #5. Dimitris Cheilaris (204-F-90, currently plays in Greece) contributed to Charilaos‘ victory against the closely-ranked Marousi (2-5) 97-86 in the Greek A2 (second division) on Wednesday night.
Cheilaris recorded 12 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 27 minutes.
Charilaos Trikoupis Mesologiou (2-3) is placed tenth in the A2.
It was his team’s first victory after three consecutive loses.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
Cheilaris has averaged so far 9.6ppg, 3.4rpg and 1.4apg in five games.
He also holds two passports: German and Greek.
Despite Cheilaris’ German nationality, he previously played for the Greek U16 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the German team.

   #6. Noam Avivi (205-PF-99, another player represented by Avi Zilberman, currently plays in FIBA Europe Cup) was not able to help Galil Gilboa in their game against Avtodor in the FIBA Europe Cup.
Avivi scored 9 points.
His team was crushed by 29 points 100-71.
Avivi has averaged so far 9.2ppg and 3.2rpg.
He has dual citizenship: German and Israeli.
Despite Avivi’s German passport, he previously played for the Israeli U20 national team and probably cannot be called to the German team.

   #7. Mateo Zovko (193-F-98, college: Laramie CC, currently plays in Bosnia) was not able to secure a victory for Zrinjski HT (1-4) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Zovko’s very good performance Zrinjski HT was defeated 89-83 at home by the one of league’s weakest teams Mladost (#13).
He was the second best scorer with 16 points. Zovko also added 3 passes.
Zovko has averaged so far 7.2ppg, 1.4rpg and 1.6apg.
He has German and Bosnia and Herzegovina nationalities.
Despite Zovko’s German passport, he previously played for the Bosnia and Herzegovina U18 national team.

   #8. Ryan Kriener (208-C-98, college: Iowa, currently plays in Japan) contributed to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked Earthfriends Tokyo Z crushing them 84-57 in the Japanese B2 League on Saturday night.
Kriener scored 9 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 25 minutes.
Kriener averaged so far 10.1ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.7apg in 12 games.
He is a naturalized American.
Strangely Kriener has never played in Germany.

   #9. Liam Carpenter (188-SG-96, currently plays in United Kingdom) couldn’t help the league outsider Plymouth Patriots in their game against Glasgow Rocks in the British BBL.
He scored 6 points and added 11 assists in 38 minutes.
His team lost 96-107.
Carpenter has averaged so far 3.7ppg, 1.3rpg and 4.0apg in three games.
He holds both German and British passports.
Despite Carpenter’s German nationality, he previously played for the British U20 national team.

   #10. Experienced Dejan Bruce (205-PF-2, currently plays in Spain) couldn’t help Fuenlabrada 2 (4-6) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite Bruce’s good performance the tenth-placed Fuenlabrada 2 was defeated 74-68 in Santa Cruz de Tenerife by the higher-ranked Nautico Tenerife (#9) in the Group B.
He scored 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.
Bruce has averaged so far 5.2ppg and 4.2rpg.
