U.S. Virgin Islands Forward Desi Rodriguez (198-F-1996) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Wuerzburg, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 23.
The 25-year old player tried to help (41 points, seven rebounds) his team in a lost game to Ulm (#3, 16-7) 86-92. Wuerzburg maintains the 16th position in German BBL. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 17 games and recorded just five victories. Rodriguez has many years of experience at Wuerzburg, through which he has constantly improved. Desi Rodriguez averages this season 15.0ppg and 5.2rpg.

The second best player in last round’s games was another Wuerzburg’s star – young former international Filip Stanic (207-C/F-1998, agency: BeoBasket). Stanic had a very good evening with a double-double of 17 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Wuerzburg lost that game 76-88 to the higher-ranked Ulm (#3, 16-7). Wuerzburg is still second from the bottom in the standings. 17 lost games are too many comparing to just five victories Wuerzburg managed to get this year. Stanic is one of the most experienced players at Wuerzburg and similarly like Desi Rodriguez has a reputation of one of team’s most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was international forward Lukas Meisner (203-PF-1995) of Hamburg (#9). Meisner scored 20 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Hamburg, leading his team to a 101-85 easy win against the lower-ranked Oldenburg (#17, 5-17). Hamburg needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 12 victories and 10 lost games. Meisner has a very solid season. In 20 games in Germany he scored 6.9ppg.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
