Center Kirill Popov (208-C-1998) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Temp-SUMZ-UMMC Revda, receiving a Hoops Agents Superleague 1 Player of the Week award for round 19.
The 25-year old player had a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds, while his team outclassed, the league’s bottom-ranked team Rusichi K. (#16, 0-18) with 51-point margin 106-55. TSU maintains the 2nd position in Russian Superleague 1. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. TSU will need more victories to improve their 14-5 record. In the team’s last game Popov had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Kirill Popov averages this season 8.1ppg.

The second best player in last round’s games was young Alexey Nesterov (205-PF-1988) of BARS-RGEU Rostov. Nesterov had a very good evening with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as BARS-RGEU was edged by the higher-ranked Kupol-Rodniki (#8, 9-10) 79-78. BARS-RGEU is still in a red zone at 13th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 7-12 record. Nesterov is a newcomer at BARS-RGEU, but is already one of team’s top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Danila Chikarev (197-SF-2001) of BC Barnaul Altayskiy Kray (#3). Chikarev scored 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. He was a key player of Barnaul, leading his team to a 89-75 easy win against #4 ranked Dinamo V. in a game of the week. Barnaul needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 13 victories and 6 lost games. Chikarev has a very solid season. In 19 games in Russia he scored 10.4ppg.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
