Jordan Clarkson’s commitment to representing the Philippines in the upcoming FIBA World Cup has been confirmed. Although the specific date of his arrival remains uncertain, the Philippines Basketball Federation has received assurance from Jordan’s father, Mike Clarkson, about his son’s dedication to joining Gilas Pilipinas at least six weeks prior to the tournament, per Rey Joble of Sports Tribune.
Clarkson, who previously led the Philippine national team in the 2018 Asian Games, is eager to represent his maternal grandmother’s native country on the world stage. While the exact timing of Jordan Clarkson’s arrival is still to be determined, both SBP President Al Panlilio and head coach Chot Reyes expressed their anticipation and desire to have him join the team as early as possible.
The Philippines, co-hosts of this year’s FIBA World Cup, will start their campaign in Group A alongside Angola, Dominican Republic and Italy.
