The Dallas Mavericks got their first win of the Western Conference semifinals, beating the Phoenix Suns 103-94 on Friday night.
The Mavs now trail the series 2-1.
“Everybody joined the party,” said Jason Kidd. “They helped out on both ends. Luka [Doncic] was great defensively … it puts us in a different position when that happens.”
Jalen Brunson lead the Mavs with 28 points, with Doncic finishing with 26 points and 13 rebounds.
Doncic acknowledged his improvement on the defensive end following the win.
“I knew I could do better,” said Doncic. “I think I made a big jump on defense this year. The second half (of Game 2) was horrible by me, and I knew I had to get back to my team and play better defense.”
Brunson credited his aggressiveness for his scoring outburst.
“I kind of found myself playing with a little bit more hop in my step, getting to spots quicker and making decisions faster,” Brunson said. “Decisions came from me just being aggressive.”
Game 4 is on Sunday.
