Through 3 Quarters
After a tough loss on the road their last time out, the Minnesota Timberwolves look much better today on their home court. After three quarters it’s looking more and more like their high-powered offense is just too much for the Utah Jazz as the Timberwolves lead 94-77.
Minnesota has been led by center Karl-Anthony Towns, who so far has posted a double-double on 29 points and ten boards along with seven dimes. One thing to keep an eye out for is Jordan McLaughlin’s foul situation as he currently sits at four.
Utah has enjoyed the tag-team combination of small forward Bojan Bogdanovic and point guard Mike Conley. The former has 20 points, while the latter has 19 points and four assists in addition to four rebounds.
the Jazz have lost 93% of the time when they were down heading into the fourth quarter this season, so this one seems just about wrapped up

What to Know
The Minnesota Timberwolves will be returning home after a three-game road trip. Minnesota and the Utah Jazz will face off in a Northwest Division battle at 8 p.m. ET on Sunday at Target Center. The Timberwolves haven’t won a game against Utah since April 26 of last year, but they’ll be looking to end the drought.
Minnesota came up short against the Phoenix Suns this past Friday, falling 134-124. A silver lining for Minnesota was the play of small forward Anthony Edwards, who posted a double-double on 27 points and ten dimes along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Utah came up short against the Memphis Grizzlies this past Friday, falling 119-109. Utah’s loss came about despite a quality game from small forward Danuel House Jr., who had 21 points. House Jr. had some trouble finding his footing against Phoenix last Wednesday, so this was a step in the right direction. House Jr.’s points were the most he has had all season.
Barring any buzzer beaters, the Timberwolves are expected to win a tight contest. Now might not be the best time to take Minnesota against the spread since they’ve let down bettors for the past three consecutive games.
The losses put Minnesota at 24-25 and Utah at 30-20. A pair of stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Minnesota is stumbling into the contest with the most fouls per game in the league, having accrued 22 on average. To make matters even worse for the Timberwolves, the Jazz rank third in the league when it comes to fouls drawn per game, with 20.4 on average.
