Derrick White, Jrue Holiday, and Kristaps Porzingis all climb ranks in second All-Star voting returns

On Thursday afternoon, the NBA released the results of the second 2024 All-Star voting period. All five Celtics starters were once again featured amongst the top vote-getters in the Eastern Conference.

Jayson Tatum (2,939,663 votes) and Jaylen Brown (749,095 votes) both remained third and fifth among frontcourt players, respectively. However, Kristaps Porzingis (434,044 votes) jumped up from eighth place last week all the way to sixth.

As for the “Stock Exchange” backcourt duo of Derrick White (399,120 votes) and Jrue Holiday (312,523 votes), they also did some climbing this week. White moved into seventh place amongst Eastern Conference guards, while Holiday slid into ninth.

Fan voting only applies to the starting lineup. Three frontcourt players and two backcourt players from each conference are selected by fans, while the reserves are picked by coaches, other players, as well as a media panel.

Tatum leads the group with four All-Star selections, Brown and Holiday each have two to their names, Porzingis was selected once back in the 2018 season, and White is hoping to make his All-Star game debut.

The All-Star starters will be revealed in two weeks during the Jan. 25 edition of “Inside the NBA” on TNT.

No team has ever seen more than four players be named to an All-Star game. There have been nine instances throughout NBA history where four players from the same squad earned the honor. Three of those have been Celtics teams. They did it in 1962, 1975, and then 2011.
