The Boston Celtics announced Malcolm Brogdon and Marcus Smart will both be out with injury as the team faces the 9-5 Hawks down in Atlanta. As such, head coach Joe Mazzulla will be without two of the most dynamic members of his guard rotation.
Brogdon has been battling hamstring tightness since last week, and Wednesday will be his fourth straight game missed due to injury. Smart is set to sit out with right ankle inflammation, according to the team.
The Hawks, meanwhile, have one of the most prolific backcourts in the NBA. Star point guard Trae Young is averaging 26.9 points and 9.3 assists per game, and newcomer Dejounte Murray is averaging 21.5 points and 7.8 assists a night.
Boston has won seven straight games and currently sits atop the Eastern Conference standings. Atlanta is third in the East and a worthy challenge for a red hot Celtics team.
