The Regular Season in Euroleague is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 6 rounds. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most interesting game of round 28 was a derby match between two teams from Spain. Second ranked Real Madrid won against visiting Valencia (13-15) 95-91. They keep the eleventh place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Virtus BO. Real Madrid are looking forward to face Efes (#10) in Istanbul in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Valencia will play at home against Fenerbahce and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Spanish Barca (18-10) against fifth ranked Turkish Fenerbahce (17-10) on Friday night. Visiting Barca was defeated by Fenerbahce in a tough game in Istanbul 73-81. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending Greek champion maintains first position with 20-8 record. Loser Bayern Muenchen keeps the fifteenth place with 17 games lost. Olympiacos will meet Zalgiris (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bayern Muenchen will play against ALBA Berlin (#18) and hope to secure a win.

Rest of the games of round 28 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:

Bottom-ranked ALBA were outscored by Virtus BO in a home game 74-96. Crvena Zvezda recorded a loss to Panathinaikos on the road 75-66. Baskonia was defeated by Monaco on its own court 93-102.
The best stats of 28th round was 20 points and 12 assists by Darius Thompson of Baskonia.

Zalgiris – ASVEL 85-67

There was no surprise in Kaunas where 17th ranked French ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (8-20) was defeated by ninth ranked Lithuanian Zalgiris (15-13) 85-67 on Thursday. Zalgiris dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket’s 22. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian-Lithuanian Ignas Brazdeikis (201-1999, college: Michigan) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and American point guard Isaiah Taylor (190-1994, college: Texas, agency: BeoBasket) who added 15 points during the contest. At the losing side American guard Jonah Mathews (190-1998, college: USC) responded with 18 points and Bulgarian-American point guard Dee Bost (188-1989, college: MSU) scored 10 points.
