Ambroise Couture

20-year old power forward Ambroise Couture (199-PF-2002) had a very impressive game in the last round for Monaco and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 20.
He had the game-high 31 points adding two rebounds and five assists for Monaco in his team’s victory, helping them to beat Paris BA (#18, 1-18) 95-85. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Monaco is placed at 12th position in French league. Monaco is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-11 record. In the team’s last game Couture had a remarkable 68.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Monaco’s top player in his first season with the team. Couture has impressive league stats. He is in league’s top in points (4th best: 18.9ppg), rebounds (8th best: 8.1rpg) and averages solid 52.2% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Mohammad Amini (192-G/F-2005, agency: BIG). He is Iranian swingman in his first season at Monaco. In the last game Amini recorded impressive 27 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course Monaco cruised to a 95-85 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Paris BA (#18, 1-18). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Monaco managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 12th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 8-11 record. Amini is a newcomer at Monaco and quickly became one of team’s most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Cameron Valcy (192-SG-2003) of Le Portel (#17). Valcy showcased his all-around game by recording 20 points, seven rebounds and six assists in the last round. Despite Valcy’s great performance Le Portel lost 90-97 to the higher-ranked Strasbourg (#10, 9-11). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Le Portel can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-18 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Valcy has a very solid season. In 19 games in France he scored 13.6ppg.
