Steph Curry’s courtside trip reminiscent of Shaq ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ moment

Steph’s trip reminds Kerr of hilarious Shaq ‘Curb’ episode originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea

Steph Curry tripped over a vendor who was walking courtside in the closing seconds of the first half in Game 3 of the Western Conference finals against the Dallas Mavericks.

On Monday, coach Steve Kerr joked with 95.7 The Game’s Damon Bruce and Ray Ratto that the moment reminded him of a scene from an HBO comedy television show.

“It reminded me of the old ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ episode with Shaq,” Kerr said. “You know, the access that everybody has now is, it seems like everyone is just closer and more intimate than ever before in terms of just being on top of the game, whether it’s actual people two feet away from the action or getting interviewed during the middle of a game in the huddle or a camera in the locker room.”

In the eighth episode of the second season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” which aired in 2001, comedian Larry David scored courtside seats for the Los Angeles Lakers’ home opener. All was going well until David stretched out his legs onto the court and accidentally tripped and injured O’Neal.

Thankfully, Curry was OK and laughed about it after the game, questioning why the fan was ordering a drink when halftime just seconds away.

Kerr agreed with his superstar.

“It’s just the way we sell the game and promote the game,” Kerr said. “It’s very, very intimate, and most of that is really good because it provides an incredible experience for the fans, but I agree with Steph — just wait until halftime to serve the guy that beer and I’m sure he’ll be fine.”

You’ve been warned, courtside fans at Chase Center. Wait until halftime to get that extra drink.
