American Javion Hamlet (193-G-1998, agency: Tropical Sports Agency) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Newcastle E. and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 24-year old guard had the game-high 33 points adding six rebounds and six assists for Newcastle E. as his team was edged out by Manchester G. (#7, 7-7) 99-97. Newcastle E. maintains the 9th position in British BBL. The season is in a full swing, so it’s only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Newcastle E. have already lost 11 games and recorded just four victories. In the team’s last game Hamlet had a remarkable 64.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Newcastle E.’s top player in his first season with the team. University of North Texas graduate has very impressive stats this year. Hamlet is league’s best scorer averaging so far 21.9ppg. Hamlet is in league’s top in and averages solid 56.4% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was young American forward Tajh Green (203-F-1998) of Manchester G.. Green impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 24 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Manchester G. was edged by the higher-ranked Cheshire P. (#4, 9-9) 103-99. Despite lost game Manchester G. moved up to 7th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 7-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Green is a newcomer at Manchester G. and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team’s leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.3ppg (#2). He also registered 8.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Antonio Williams (183-PG-1997, agency: Players Group) of Plymouth P. (#6). Williams scored 26 points. Despite Williams’ great performance Plymouth P. lost 63-87 to the higher-ranked London L. (#1, 12-2). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Plymouth P. needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 8 victories and 8 lost games. Williams has a great season in United Kingdom. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 19.8ppg (4th best) and assists with 4.7apg (7th best).
