Livio Jean-Charles

Guyanese-French Livio Jean-Charles (205-PF-1993, agency: BeoBasket) put on an amazing game in the last round for league’s leader CSKA and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 29-year old power forward had a double-double of 25 points and ten rebounds, while his team beat Lokomotiv (#6, 9-8) 94-80. It allowed CSKA to consolidate first place in the VTB United League. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is already in a full swing and CSKA still have not lost a single game, getting all 17 victories. It was one of impressive evenings for Jean-Charles as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Livio Jean-Charles averages this season 11.9ppg and 5.3rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was young American guard Justin Roberson (187-G-1993) of Parma-Pari. Roberson impressed basketball fans with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Of course he led Parma-Pari to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Astana (#11, 2-13) 94-74. Parma-Pari’s 7th position in the standings has not changed. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 7-10 record. Roberson is a newcomer at Parma-Pari and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team’s leaders.

The third best performed player last round was another Parma-Pari’s star – Danila Pokhodyayev (204-F-2001, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov). Pokhodyayev scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was another key player of Parma-Pari, helping his team with a 94-74 easy win against the lower-ranked Astana (#11, 2-13). The chances of Parma-Pari ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 10 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Pokhodyayev could help Parma-Pari to bring them higher in the standings. Pokhodyayev has a very solid season. In 15 games in VTB United League he scored 8.8ppg. He also has 4.5rpg and FGP: 53.2%.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
