24-year old American point guard Jamari Blackmon (183-PG-2000) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked AO Mykonou and receives a Hoops Agents Elite League Player of the Week award for round 3.
He had the game-high 27 points adding seven rebounds and five assists for Mykonou in his team’s victory, helping them to crush Proteas V. (#12, 1-2) with 18-point margin 107-89. Mykonou is placed at 2nd position in Greek Elite League. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Mykonou already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. In the team’s last game Blackmon had a remarkable 58.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Mykonou‘s top player in his first season with the team. University of Louisiana at Monroe graduate has very impressive stats this year. Blackmon is in league’s top in points (2nd best: 24.0ppg) and averages solid 66.7% FGP and 47.1% from behind 3-point line.
Second best performed player last round was Joe Bryant Jr. (185-G-2000, agency: BIG) of AE Psychiko Athens. He is American guard in his first season at Psychikou. In the last game Bryant Jr. recorded an impressive 30 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course he led Psychikou to another comfortable win 85-66 over Papagou (1-2) being unquestionably team leader. The season is still at the very beginning and this victory may help a lot. Let’s wait for the next round. Bryant Jr. is a newcomer at Psychikou and quickly became one of team’s most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.3ppg (#9). His other stats are also decent: 5.0rpg and 3.7apg. Former Norfolk State University star Bryant Jr. is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.
Third place about best performers goes to guard Dimitris Geromichalos (185-PG-1994) of NE Megaridas (#4). Geromichalos got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He was a key player of Megaridas, leading his team to a 76-73 win against Near East (#9, 1-2). Megaridas needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 1 lost game. Geromichalos has a great season in Greece. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 21.0ppg (5th best).
