Newly promoted Khimki-Podmos. maintains second position with 8-5 record having five points less than leader Metallurg MGN, which they share with Dinamo. Khimki-Podmos. is looking forward to face Dynamo-MGTU (#4) in Maykop in the next round. Dinamo will play on the road against Stavropol and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
Seventh-ranked Stavropol (2-12) was very close to win a game against fourth ranked Dynamo-MGTU (7-7) in Maykop. Dynamo-MGTU managed to secure only one-point victory 77-76. However their fans expected easier game. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Danila Donskov (182-2002) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists and Alexandr Milyutin who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Dynamo-MGTU’s coach Artem Gaposhin allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Valentin Rogkustov (195-2000, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Dynamo-MGTU have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 7-7 record. Stavropol at the other side stay at the bottom place with 12 games lost. Dynamo-MGTU will play against higher ranked Khimki-Podmos. (#3) at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Stavropol will play against the league’s second-placed Dinamo (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Metallurg MGN – Neftekhimik T. 94-87

No shocking result in a game when first ranked Metallurg MGN (12-2) beat 6th ranked Neftekhimik (5-9) in Chelyabinsk 94-87 on Friday. Metallurg MGN made 39-of-46 free shots (84.8 percent) during the game, while Neftekhimik only scored fourteen points from the stripe. The winners were led by power forward Sergei Kharitonov (204-1991) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 32 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Iaroslav Vennikov (187-1999) supported him with 29 points (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Even a double-double of 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists by forward Egor Chernyshev (196-1999) did not help to save the game for Neftekhimik. Guard Sergey Rozhkov (188-1999) added 14 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Four Neftekhimik players scored in double figures.
