After 4 rounds played we can already see who rules in the NM1 and who belongs to weaker ones. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Round 4 most important game was a defeat of league’s leader Loon-Plage (3-1). They were defeated by fourth ranked Besancon (3-1) 90-84 on Friday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Loon-Plage. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Besancon shot 61.1 percent from the field and made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Calvin Jubenot (198-1986) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 6 rebounds and Luxembourg forward Ben Kovac (196-2000) who added 19 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American guard Jordan Robertson (190-1996, college: Colgate) responded with 33 points (!!!). Loon-Plage’s coach Quentin Wadoux rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn’t help. Besancon have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Loon-Plage. Loon-Plage will play next round against Lyon trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Besancon will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked SCABB in Andrezieux.
Important game to mention about took place in Saint Vallier. Top-ranked STB Le Havre (3-0) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 6th ranked Saint Vallier (2-2) 95-93 on Friday evening. The winners were led by point guard Steven Cayol (193-1997) who scored that evening 23 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals and William Mensah supported him with 15 points and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 15 points, 7 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 steals by Ivorian point guard Jean-Francois Kebe (185-1994) did not help to save the game for Saint Vallier. Saint Vallier’s coach tested ten players, but that didn’t help to avoid defeat in this game. STB Le Havre have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Saint Vallier at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. They share the position with 10 other teams. Le Havre will play against Boulogne (#4) in Boulogne-sur-Mer in the next round. Saint Vallier will play on the road against Avignon/Pontet and hopes to get back on the winning track.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 4: Vitre was destroyed by Levallois on the opponent’s court 77-56. Toulouse managed to outperform Lorient in a home game 85-76. Poissy recorded a loss to Fougeres on the road 79-67. Rennes defeated Tours on its own court 86-83. Tarbes-Lourdes was beaten by Les Sables in Les Sables-D’Ollone 93-89. Quimper destroyed Challans at home 95-72. Avignon/Pontet was outscored by Mulhouse on the opponent’s court 100-58. Berck was rolled over Orchies in a home game 53-80. SCABB defeated Lyon on the road 76-67. Metz was smashed by Boulogne on its own court 54-81. Feurs won against Charleville in a road game 98-85.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 21 points and 6 rebounds by Deontaye Buskey of Feurs.
