The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Coruna (24-8) on the court of eighth ranked Alicante on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by Alicante 84-74. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Coruna. Alicante made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. 30 personal fouls committed by Coruna helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American guard Brad Davison (193-1999, college: Wisconsin) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points and 5 rebounds. Naturalized Bulgarian forward Konstantin Kostadinov (203-2003) helped adding 18 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side power forward Alejandro Galan (207-1999) responded with 17 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alicante (19-12) moved-up to seventh place. Coruna at the other side still keeps top position with eight games lost. Alicante are looking forward to face Castello (#16) in Castellon in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Coruna will play on the road against Oviedo (#13) and is hoping to win this game.
The game in Valladolid supposed to be also worth to mention about. Third ranked Burgos T. (23-8) played at the court of 7th ranked Valladolid (18-13). Burgos T. smashed Valladolid 94-63. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Mario Saint-Supery (194-2006) who led the winners and scored 13 points and 5 assists. Arnau Parrado accounted for 13 points and 7 rebounds. The most impressive stats of the last round was 20 points and 12 rebounds by Cameron Krutwig of Lleida.

Rather expected game in Logrono where 18th ranked Clavijo (5-26) was edged by sixteenth ranked Castello (9-22) 96-93 on Sunday.
