Naturalized Guinean Sekou Doumbouya (202-F-2000) had a very impressive game in the last round for Chorale de Roanne Basket and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 25.
The 23-year old forward had the game-high 29 points adding four rebounds for Roanne in his team’s victory, helping them to edge out Le Portel (#8, 12-13) 84-83. Chorale de Roanne is placed at 15th position in French Betclic ELITE ProA. Roanne is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-15 record. In the team’s last game Doumbouya had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Chorale de Roanne‘s top player in his first season with the team. Sekou Doumbouya averages just after two games 23.5ppg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was young Dutch forward Emmanuel Nzekwesi (203-F-1997) of Cholet Basket. Nzekwesi impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 22 points and 13 rebounds. It was enough for Cholet Basket to edge the higher-ranked Bourg (#3, 17-7) by 2 points 80-78. This victory allowed Cholet to move up to 7th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 13-12 record is not bad and everything may still change. Nzekwesi is a newcomer at Cholet and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

The third best performed player last round was Lionel Gaudoux (198-PF-1995) of ES Chalon-Sur-Saone (#14). Gaudoux scored 20 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. He was a key player of Chalon/Saor, leading his team to a 88-87 win against the higher-ranked ASVEL (#2, 18-7). Gaudoux has a very solid season. In 2 games in France he scored 10.0ppg.
