28-year old point guard Evgeny Novoselov (173-PG-1995) had a great game in the last round for Cheboksarskiye Yastreby Cheboksari and receives a Hoops Agents Superleague 2 Player of the Week award for round 9.
He had the game-high 31 points adding four rebounds and five assists for Cheb.Yastreby in his team’s victory, helping them to beat Neftekhimik T. (#6, 5-11) 86-78. Cheb.Yastreby maintains the 5th position in Russian Superleague 2. Cheb.Yastreby is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-7 record. In the team’s last game Novoselov had a remarkable 57.9% from 2-point range. He turned to be Cheb.Yastreby‘s top player in his first season with the team. Novoselov has impressive league stats. He is league’s best scorer averaging so far 18.2ppg. Novoselov is in league’s top in assists (4th best: 3.7apg) and averages solid 59.3% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Anton Bogdan (198-F/C-1986). He is a forward in his 10th season at Cheb.Yastreby. In the last game Bogdan recorded an impressive 27 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course Cheboksarskiye Yastreby Cheboksari cruised to a 83-72 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Neftekhimik T. (#6, 5-11). Cheb.Yastreby’s 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 7-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Bogdan is one of the most experienced players at Cheb.Yastreby and similarly like Evgeny Novoselov has a reputation of one of team’s most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Semen Krasilshchikov (197-F-2000) of Khimki-Podmoskovye Moscow Region (#3). Krasilshchikov scored 26 points. He was a key player of Khimki-Podmos., leading his team to a 87-77 win against #4 ranked Dynamo-MGTU in a game of the week. Krasilshchikov has a very solid season.
