Anthony Edwards on Timberwolves: “We suck right now”

In a showdown against the New Orleans Pelicans, the Minnesota Timberwolves faced a setback as they succumbed to a 117-106 defeat, despite Anthony Edwards’ stellar 35-point performance.

Despite Minnesota’s recent struggles, the Timberwolves maintain their top spot in the West, but Anthony Edwards didn’t mince words about the team’s current form.

“We got to figure it out. We suck right now,” expressed Edwards bluntly, acknowledging the team’s challenges after losing two consecutive games.

Minnesota’s woes were further compounded by 13 turnovers, capitalized upon by the Pelicans, who converted them into 16 crucial points.

When pressed about the team’s biggest issue, Edwards opted to keep it in-house, stating, “It’s within the team. Nothing I’m going to say here. But we talk.”

Acknowledging the responsibility on the players, Edwards emphasized, “It’s on us because the coaches do a great job of bringing the game plan and making sure we’re prepared. The rest of it is on us.”

Expressing the need for internal accountability, Edwards concluded, “They keep asking us to play hard, and it’s just they shouldn’t have to say. We got to figure it out.”
