The most shocking disappointment of round 16 in the Superleague 1 was only one-point a home defeat of 7th ranked Barnaul (7-8) to eighth ranked Novosybirsk (8-7) 69-68. Worth to mention a great performance of Belarusian power forward Alexandr Semenyuk (208-1993) who helped to win the game recording 9 points and 12 rebounds and power forward Danil Plugarev (205-2002) who added 14 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side power forward Kirill Gornaev (202-1996) responded with 8 points and 14 rebounds. Novosybirsk moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Chelbasket. Barnaul at the other side dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. Novosybirsk will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Superleague 1 top team – Zenit-2 (12-3) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat sixteenth ranked Dinamo (3-12) in Grozny 85-75. The winners were led by swingman Pavel Zemskiy (203-2004) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and Daniil Aksenov supported him with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Even 13 points and 6 assists by guard Vadim Bondarenko (193-2000, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) did not help to save the game for Dinamo. Zenit-2 have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-3 record, which they share with TSU and CSKA-2. Newly promoted Dinamo stay at the bottom place with 12 games lost. Dinamo will play again on the road against the league’s leader Zenit-2 (#1) in Saint Petersburg and hopes to get back on the winning track.

The most impressive stats of the last round was 15 points and 5 rebounds by Andrey Toptunov of Chelbasket.

Irkut – Dinamo V. 96-78
