Steph says he’s ‘ready to roll’ for Warriors’ upcoming season originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea
Although he was competing on the golf course Friday during “The Match” on TNT, Warriors star Steph Curry is eager to get back on the court with his teammates.
“I’m ready to roll. Nice and rested. We’ve got a great opportunity to come back strong,” Curry said during Friday’s event. “We’re excited to get back out there and compete … Looking forward to it. We got practice tomorrow. Going to enjoy this last round for sure.”
Curry and the Warriors were looking at this season as a “revenge year” after finishing the 2019-20 season with a dismal 15-50 record, earning last place in the Western Conference. With Klay Thompson now expected to miss another full season for the Warriors, there will be added pressure on Curry and Draymond Green to try and bring the Warriors back to championship contention.

New additions Kelly Oubre Jr. and No. 2 overall draft pick James Wiseman also should help fill out the offensive rotation, and especially after Curry and “The Match” teammate Peyton Manning lost Friday’s outing to PGA pro Phil Mickelson and NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley, the two-time NBA MVP will be motivated for the Warriors going into this season.
