Brooklyn Nets’ Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving make The Ringer’s top 100 list

Brooklyn Nets superstars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving made The Ringer’s top 100 list that was published earlier this week. Durant and Irving have each played great while leading the Nets to a 17-12 record so far this season.

Durant is averaging 30 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.5 assists while shooting 55.9% from the field and 34.6% from behind the three-point line. Durant, one of the most consistent scorers in the league, has score at least 20 points in 26 out of 28 games.

Irving is averaging 25.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game while shooting 47.9% from the field and 32.7% from three-point land. He has scored at least 30 points in six games and has scored at least 20 points in 16 games this season.

What follows is where each player ranks on the list and what The Ringer says about the player:

66. Kyrie Irving

The Ringer on Irving:

“If being the best player were purely about offensive prowess, Irving would be somewhere in the top 20. He is magnificent. He has one of the slipperiest handles in the history of the game, and he uses it to get wherever he wants on the court. Kyrie comes from the school of Kobe Bryant, and it’s evident in his midrange turnarounds and fearless pull-up 3s. And as a below-the-rim finisher, he’s used midair adjustments and a feathery touch to make a career highlight reel that seems like it could go on forever.”

5. Kevin Durant

The Ringer on Durant:

“Now over three years removed from a ruptured Achilles, Durant remains one of the game’s deadliest scorers, posting a similar statistical profile over his Nets tenure as he did during his years with the Thunder. KD can still score against any defensive coverage using his smooth pull-up jumper, pindown screens curling into the middle of the floor, and skilled finishes at the rim even when contested. He takes the same types of shots he always has, with over half of his attempts coming from midrange.”
