American-Ghanian Bashir Ahmed (201-F/G-1993) put on an amazing game in the last round for Ylli and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 29-year old swingman had a double-double of 24 points and ten rebounds, while his team crushed Trepca (#6, 4-7) with 19-point margin 86-67. Ylli maintains the 3rd position in Kosovan Superliga. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Ylli will need more victories to improve their 7-4 record. In the team’s last game Ahmed had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Ylli’s top player in his first season with the team. Bashir Ahmed averages this season 14.7ppg and 5.4rpg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was young international center Urim Zenelaj (213-C-1991, agency: Interperformances) of Prizreni. Zenelaj impressed basketball fans with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Bad luck as Prizreni lost that game 66-74 to slightly higher-ranked Vellaznimi (#4, 6-6). This loss caused Prizreni to drop to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 5-5 record is not bad and everything may still change. Zenelaj is one of the most experienced players at Prizreni and has a reputation of one of team’s most reliable players.
The third best performed player last round was American Dustin Thomas (203-F-1995) of second-ranked Prishtina. Thomas showcased his all-around game by recording 20 points, seven rebounds and four assists in the last round. He was a key player of Prishtina, leading his team to a 97-66 easy win against the lower-ranked Rahoveci (#8, 2-10). Prishtina needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 8 victories and 3 lost games. Thomas has a great season in Kosovo. After 11 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 17.6ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 9.1rpg (4th best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
