The San Antonio Spurs will be a little thin in the frontcourt behind Victor Wembanyama over the coming weeks. Zach Collins is expected to miss two-to-four weeks due to a sprained right ankle, per Spurs coach Gregg Popovich.
Collins missed his first game of the season during Sunday’s loss to the visiting Boston Celtics. He had played in San Antonio’s first 31 games.
In early December, the Spurs moved Wembanyama to the starting center spot, with Collins going to the bench. On the season, Collins has averaged 12.9 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.
