The Washington Wizards claimed Joel Ayayi off waivers. Ayayi was waived by the Los Angeles Lakers over the weekend. He’ll now fill one of the Wizards Two-Way spots.
Ayayi went undrafted out of Gonzaga at the 2021 NBA Draft. He then signed with the Lakers and started all five of the team’s Las Vegas Summer League games.
Washington’s roster is now at the maximum of 15 players on standard contracts and two players on Two-Way contracts. The Wizards other Two-Way player is Cassius Winston.
