Cauley-Stein, 28, most recently played for the Dallas Mavericks and Philadelphia 76ers where he averaged 1.7 points and 2.0 rebounds in 20 games over the 2021-22 NBA season.
It’s been a turbulent past few years for Cauley-Stein, the former #6 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.
Cauley-Stein put up impressive stats in limited minutes for the first few seasons of his career, but slowly fell out of the Sacramento Kings’ long-term plan.
His career averages are 8.7 points and 5.9 rebounds on 54%/19%/61% shooting splits.
The Rockets will likely look to give second-year center Alperen Sengun significant minutes this year.
