Washington Wizards vs Denver Nuggets Team News

The Wizards may have to wait just a little longer on the return of former lottery pick Rui Hachimura, Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington writes. The Japanese forward hasn’t played a single game this season as he’s still recovering from a mental health issue. According to Wizards head coach Wes Unseld, the team hopes Hachimura can start participating in 5-on-5 scrimmages within the next two weeks. The ex-Gonzaga standout has already undergone 1-on-1 drills against player development coaches and may see 2-on-2 and 3-on-3 action with teammates during the road trip.

Chris Vernon of The Ringer dropped a hint in a recent episode of “The Mismatch” on Jamal Murray, possibly making his NBA return earlier than expected. According to the NBA pundit, Murray might return to action as early as February. Murray has been rehabilitating for months after suffering a tear in his left ACL last April. The usual timeline for an NBA player to make a full recovery from an ACL tear extends 10 to 12 months. If Murray rejoins his team in February, his recovery period will only last roughly ten months from the injury.
