The Golden State Warriors expect Draymond Green to opt out of the final season of his contract, sources tell Marc J. Spears. Green has a $27.6 million player option that he can decline to become a free agent.
The Warriors are expected to do everything in their power to re-sign Green, who hasn’t been a free agent since 2015 when he signed a five-year, $82 million deal as a restricted free agent.
Green was drafted by the Warriors in the second round in 2012.
