Iran posed challenges, but Spain ultimately emerged victorious in their last match of Group G at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.

The final score of 85-65 extended Spain’s remarkable winning streak in World Cup games to 11, a streak that began in the 2019 tournament and equals their longest run between the 2002 and 2006 competitions.

Despite Iran’s strong defensive focus on containing Willy Hernangomez and Juan Nunez, it created an opportunity for Juancho Hernangomez to shine in his most impressive performance of the tournament, contributing 21 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks in a superb all-around display. Santi Aldama also stood out with 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

On the Iranian side, Mohammad Amini, a rising star, led with 19 points.
