Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will be out until after the All-Star break due to a sprained right ankle. Gilgeous-Alexander was injured during the Thunder’s overtime loss to the Indiana Pacers on Friday.
Last season, Gilgeous-Alexander missed considerable time with plantar fasciitis. This year, he’s been mostly healthy and was receiving consideration for an All-Star nod.
In 43 appearances, Gilgeous-Alexander has averaged 22.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.1 steals in 34.6 minutes per game. Next season, Gilgeous-Alexander will begin a five-year, $172.5 million maximum contract extension.
