Following Sunday’s 116-111 home win vs. the Charlotte Hornets, Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle compared Myles Turner to former All-Star Jermaine O’Neal (29 points/9 rebounds/4 blocks/1 steal/10-16 FG/1-3 3-PT/8-10 FT).
(via Bally Sports Indiana):
“There’s some guys that when they step on the floor, they bring a presence, an energy, and a confidence to the game. I coached Jermaine O’Neal here for a stretch of four years, and Jermaine had that. It was something that kinda quietly lifted up his teammates. Myles is in his prime. He’s playing the best he’s ever played. He’s a bonafide, certified leader in our locker room. He does it the right way, with actions, and not words. Yet when he talks, people listen. I’m just really happy for him. He’s a great guy. Down the stretch, he was tremendous. I can’t say it enough.”
