REPORT: Trail Blazers President Chris McGowan Resigns

According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, Portland Trail Blazers (5-7) President Chris McGowan resigned this morning from the organization. Sources told Haynes that Dewayne Hankins will be promoted to president effective immediately, after previously serving as the Chief Commercial Officer and Executive Vice President of the franchise.

The front office shake-up in Portland came shortly after the organization launched an investigation into the President of Basketball Operations and General Manager, Neil Olshey, for reportedly creating a toxic and hostile work environment.

The inquiry was expected to be wrapped up swiftly, but early this week, Haynes reported that the investigation into Olshey had been extended, interviewing individuals outside of personnel at the practice facility, including current and former employees.

The Blazers followed with a statement of their own, confirming that the transition will take place on November 26.
