REPORT: Ben Simmons Eager to Join Kevin Durant and the Nets

Newest Nets acquisition Ben Simmons has reportedly already touched base with two-time Finals MVP Kevin Durant and general manager Sean Marks, per NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski.

Woj reported that Simmons is eager to join the Nets but has to ramp up his conditioning before returning to the court. When the former All-Star suits up for his Brooklyn debut, it’ll be the first game he’s played all season after he requested to be traded from the 76ers in the offseason due to mental health issues and a back injury that’s plagued Simmons since October.

“We’ve got to work to do to get him back to play, but it’s a great step in right direction.” Klutch Sports CEO and Simmons’ agent, Rich Paul, told ESPN.

For his career, Simmons has averaged 15.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 7.7 assists per game since entering the League in 2016.
