(Alabama: Wing, Freshman, 6-9)
The No. 2 pick is where the draft unofficially begins, with the debate between Scoot Henderson and Brandon Miller taking center stage.
According to HoopsHype’s NBA Draft Predictor, Henderson has a 48.03 percent chance of going second overall, and Miller has a 46.11 percent chance.
If Charlotte holds onto the second pick, there’s a case to be made for Miller over Henderson after selecting point guard LaMelo Ball who’s become an All-Star when healthy, and to focus on upgrading at the wing around him with Miller, who’s drawn Paul George comparisons from NBA executives.
Gordon Hayward will be on an expiring $31.5 million salary next season, and Kelly Oubre Jr. is an unrestricted free agent this summer.
With Ball, Miller, and center Mark Williams, the Hornets would have a big man, wing, and point guard as their core trio looking ahead.
