The Detroit Pistons have made an unfortunate mark in history by surpassing a record nobody wants to be associated with.
On Tuesday night, the Pistons extended their losing streak to 27 games, losing 118-112 to the Brooklyn Nets. This performance establishes a new all-time record for the longest losing streak in a single NBA season.
The previous record of 26 consecutive losses was jointly held by the 2013-2014 Philadelphia 76ers and the 2011-2012 Cleveland Cavaliers.
It’s worth noting that the 76ers also experienced a 28-game losing streak, which occurred at the end of the 2014-2015 season and the beginning of the next.
