Chicago Bulls’ center, Nikola Vucevic, recently opened up about his teammate Lonzo Ball’s ongoing injury struggles.

Ball, a 25-year-old point guard, is set to miss the entire 2023-24 NBA season due to his left knee injury. This setback follows a season-long absence in 2022-23 and over half of the 2021-22 season.

In an interview with Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, Vucevic expressed his empathy for Ball, acknowledging his talent and determination. “You feel for the guy. He’s such a good player. And to have to deal with all that, it’s very difficult,” the Montenegrin center said.

Despite the challenges, Ball remains positive and committed to his recovery. Vucevic highlighted the unseen hard work: “You can’t see him do rehab. You can’t see all the stuff that he does to get back on the court.”

Injuries are a painful reality in professional sports, and Vucevic emphasized their impact on a player’s career. “Our careers, they’re longer now, but they’re still short. And for him to lose two years, two-and-a-half, it’s a big deal.”
