NBA, Players Association Could Tie Postseason Awards To Games Played

The NBA and National Basketball Players Association are discussing tying the league’s postseason awards to the number of regular season games played, sources told Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic.

The topic is being discussed as part of negotiations for the next collective bargaining agreement.

Tying awards with game appearances could be one way to solve the league’s load management issues.

The league and the union are currently in talks over a new CBA, with the next deadline for either side to opt out of the current agreement on March 31.
