Miles Bridges Has 3 Criminal Counts Dismissed

Miles Bridges had had three criminal counts dismissed by the Mecklenburg County Superior Court in North Carolina, according to a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski and Tim Bontemps.

The court filing states this was due to conflicting statements stemming from an October incident that resulted in damage to a vehicle.

“Given the lack of sufficient evidence to overcome the inconsistency of these accounts, the state would not be successful at trial,” the filing reads.

Prosecutors said Bridges’ former girlfriend Mychelle Johnson, the victim in the case, provided conflicting police statements and then went on to say she wasn’t sure how the damage was caused.

“The evidence was going to show Miles was innocent, and we were going to win a trial,” Bridges’ attorney Allen Brotherton said.

The Charlotte Hornets have declined to comment on the matter.

Bridges returned to the court this season after being suspended for 30 games without pay by the NBA due to a domestic violence incident involving his then-girlfriend and two of their children.

Currently, he is serving three years of probation after pleading no contest in exchange for no jail time in the domestic violence case.
