Sacramento Kings head coach Mike Brown praised Richaun Holmes for stepping up last night without Domantas Sabonis in their 116-111 road win vs. the Los Angeles Lakers (16 points/11 rebounds/1 assist/7-7 FG/2-2 FT).
(via Sacramento Kings):
“It was a good win by our guys. We’ve been saying it all year, we feel like we have a deep team. We know guys are going to be injured, be sick, whatever it may be. Having that next man up mentality has been huge for us. You look at a guy like Richaun, who we threw out there to start the game. I don’t know if he’s played more than 10 minutes in a game this year, and he goes out there and plays 31 minutes for us. He was great. He was 7-7 from the field. But more importantly, he had four or five deflections, which were huge. And then his 11 rebounds, we needed every single rebound we could get. They were big. His three offensive rebounds, we ended up with 20 second chance points, and his three offensive rebounds were huge for us.”
