Marcus Morris and Jokic Brothers Take the Fight to Twitter

Monday’s incident between Denver center and reigning MVP Nikola Jokic and the Miami Heat’s Markieff Morris spilled onto Twitter after both players’ brothers decided to get in on the action.

Marcus, twin brother of Markieff and a power forward-center for the Los Angeles Clippers, hit first.

“Waited till bro turned his back smh. NOTED,” Marcus Morris tweeted Monday night with an emoji of a pen in hand.

It didn’t take long for the Joker’s siblings, Strahinja and Nemanja, to create their own Twitter account and respond.

“You should leave this the way it is instead of publicly threatening our brother!Your brother made a dirty play first . If you want to make a step further be sure we will be waiting for you !! Jokic Brothers”

Morris may want to rethink retaliating on his brother Markieff’s behalf.

Last year during the Nuggets-Suns playoff series, the Jokic brothers were seen a few rows back from the court jawing and pointing at Suns’ players during an altercation.

In 2019, Strahinja was arrested on suspicion of assault for allegedly choking and pushing a woman.

During the post-game press conference, Nikola Jokic admitted he shouldn’t have shoved Morris.

It’s a stupid play,” Jokic said. “I feel bad. I am not supposed to react that way. I thought it was going to be a take foul. I think it was a dirty play. And I just needed to protect myself. I felt bad, I am not supposed to react that way, but I need to protect myself.”

Jokic later added: “I don’t know who showed me the clip, and actually his head snapped back [after the shove], so I feel really bad… It’s a bad move.”

After the game, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra told reporters Jokic’s shove was a “dangerous and dirty play.”

The Nuggets and the Heat meet again on November 29 in Miami.
