Goran Dragic cleared waivers on Thursday, after a buyout from the San Antonio Spurs. Several contenders are interested in picking up Dragic for the stretch run, but Luka Doncic hasn’t pushed his Dallas Mavericks to pick up his countryman…yet.

Following the trade deadline, Dallas GM Nico Harrison that he had no further roster moves planned. Despite that, Doncic hasn’t given up hope that he may still team up with Dragic.
“He’s my guy,” Doncic said. “Everybody would want their guys on their team, so we’ll see.”
Doncic has talked about how his father, Sasa, was Dragic’s mentor when they both played for the same club in Slovenia. Doncic has known Dragic since he was a five-year-old tagging along with his dad to practices and games. Doncic and Dragic later teamed together to lead Slovenia to the 2017 EuroBasket championship.
