The Los Angeles Lakers unveiled their new Classic Edition jersey for the 2022-23 season inspired by the first jersey worn by the team in Minneapolis.
The white jersey with ‘50s era blue and gold colorway, has “Lakers” spelled out in the original font used.
Stitched numbers are also in the ’50s era blue along with the Nike and Bibigo logos.
The number 75 was used in honor of the league’s 75th anniversary.

The “Lakers” name is a reference to Minnesota’s nickname, “The Land of 10,000 Lakes.”
The team joined the league in 1947 and drafted Hall of Fame center George Mikan.
Minneapolis won five titles, in 1949, 50, 52, 53, and 54.
The Lakers moved to LA in 1960 and won their first title in 1970 and are now tied with the Boston Celtics for the most NBA titles, 17.
