4-9-22

Washington’s collapse was really bad, should have at least got the #10 seed (last play-in spot)

Notes: The Wizards go into 2022-23 with another talented roster that can definitely compete for a top 10 spot out East. A healthy Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis should give them a chance, but it’s going to be a battle with the conference improving as a whole. In my opinion, I see every team from last year likely to remain in the top 9 with Washington, Charlotte, and New York competing for the 10th seed.

The Timberwolves made a nice jump this year, but need to realize next season will be a lot harder

Notes: Both LA teams, New Orleans, Portland, and Sacramento are coming back stronger (all finished below Minnesota last year). The Wolves upgraded their interior defense by acquiring Rudy Gobert, but lost perimeter defense/offense in the deal. 2022-23 will be a grind for the Wolves.

Changes likely coming for Utah with another 1st or 2nd round playoff exit, just need to figure out who will be gone

Notes: I guess I was right. Coach Quin Snyder, Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert, and Royce O’Neale are already gone, and other veterans like Mike Conley Jr, Bojan Bogdanovic, Jordan Clarkson, and Rudy Gay are rumored to be on the move as well.

Jayson Tatum & Jaylen Brown’s offense, team defense, Robert Williams’ health, and Marcus Smart’s playmaking will be keys for Celtics in the playoffs

Notes: All of this proved to be true, but I’d also like to mention the impact Al Horford, Derrick White, and Grant Williams ended up making in the postseason. Boston should be able to make another deep run in 2023 with the addition of Malcolm Brogdon to their already loaded roster.
