Los Angeles Lakers’ superstar LeBron James wants to own a Las Vegas NBA team.
“I want a team in Vegas,” James said on his talk show The Shop, via ESPN.
“I want the team in Vegas.”
James recently became a billionaire (via Forbes), so it shouldn’t be too hard for him to take a controlling stake in a new NBA franchise.
The biggest challenge for James will be getting the League Office to agree to an expansion.
“We are not discussing [expansion] at this time,” NBA Commissioner Adam Silver recently said.
“As I said before, at some point, this league invariably will expand, but it’s not at this moment that we are discussing it.”
Fortunately, James still has a lot of gas in his playing tank.
