The Brooklyn Nets presented a contract extension to Kyrie Irving tied to the franchise winning a championship, sources tell Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report.
Irving did not negotiate after the Nets presented the offer as it was considered “a big insult.”
The issue for Irving is no longer even about money and he wouldn’t re-sign with the Nets even if they offered him a full max contract.
Haynes said he would be surprised if the Nets don’t fulfill his trade request and remains with the franchise past the deadline.
The Los Angeles Lakers, Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks are the teams believed to be interested in trading for Irving.
