Kyrie Irving missed Saturday’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies due to right foot soreness.
“He tried to go through the shootaround, went through the shootaround and from that point, felt like we needed to take a look at it when we got back home,” Jason Kidd said. “So the best thing was to sit him tonight.”
Irving missed practice on Friday to attend the funeral of Najee Seabrooks, a Black man whom police fatally shot earlier this month near Irving’s New Jersey hometown.
Irving made an appearance at the team’s shootaround Saturday in Memphis but remained uncertain whether he would play.
